Measuring Saddle Rail Height 

The stack height of different saddles can vary significantly between brands, models and setup. To account for this variability, measure the distance (in millimeters) from the center of the bottom bracket to the middle of the saddle rails on your bike. Using this measurement should transfer over directly from your current setup to your new bike and/or post. This is the measurement you will input into the calculator.

This tool is to help you determine the maximum and minimum dropper post length you can fit in your frame given your saddle height. Select your bike model, frame size, and saddle rail height to see what dropper posts will fit.

*You are approaching the limit of insertion depth on your frame. Due to manufacturing differences in the seat post, frame, and cable housings, you will need to physically check to ensure that your combination of parts will work. Your local Santa Cruz dealer can help you check this.

Some seat posts such as the OneUp V2 have built in functionality allowing users to shim down the dropper post length. This calculator shows compatibility for full length (unshimmed) posts. To see compatibility in ‘shimmed’ positions for shimmable posts, add the maximum shim height to your saddle rail measurement. (ex: My rail height is 680mm, I can run a 180mm post. The OneUp V2 can be shimmed down 20mm. I input 700mm rail height to see if I can run a 210 shimmed down to 190mm)
